SHAH ALAM: A housewife was raped by one of three robbers who broke into her home in Kampung Rantau Panjang, Klang on Wednesday.
In the 4am incident, the 34-year-old victim was sleeping alone in her bedroom.
Her husband and their 4-year-old son were sleeping in the living room.
North Klang district police chief ACP Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the suspect woke up the victim and threatened her with a knife.
"One of them then demanded the victim to hand over her jewellery, to which she told him that she had pawned all of it. The robbers then took her handbag, RM50 and her smartphone.
"Preliminary investigation revealed that the burglar, believed to be a foreigner, had threatened the victim with his knife and ordered her to satisfy him sexually with her hand. He then decided to rape her instead," he said in a statement today.
Yusoff said the victim was helpless and she couldn't scream as the suspect told her his two accomplices would kill her husband and son if she made any noise.
He said the suspects left the house half an hour later.
Police said the burglars entered the house via a window.
"The trio also grabbed the husband's wallet with cash in it, bank cards and a driving licence, among others," he added.
Yusoff further revealed that based on the victim's report, the suspect is plump and about 166cm in height.
He was wearing a long-sleeved striped shirt and a pair of shorts.
His face was covered with a black cloth.
The Forensics Unit was also called and they retrieved a pair of shorts stained with what they believed to be the suspect's semen, strands of hair, and 13 sets of fingerprints.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and the victim was sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for medical treatment.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape and 395/397 of the same code for gang robbery.
