LANGKAWI: Police have not ruled out the possibility that the fire in a security guard-house which caused the death of a boy early this morning was the result of foul play.
Acting Police Chief of Langkawi District, DSP Mahani Mohamed said today the body of Muhammad Shukrey Azrey, 8, was found with 60% to 70% burns in the guard-house.
She said the victim's father, 40, who worked as a security guard at the guard-house to the garbage disposal site in Kilim claimed he saw a vehicle stop at the location at about 2.30am.
"According to him, two men got out of the vehicle and threw something at the guard-house, causing it to catch fire," she said.
However, Mahani said, the investigations which involved the Police Forensics Unit and the Fire and Rescue Department, had so far not found any object which could be the cause of the fire. — Bernama
