Police dismiss abduction rumour in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM: Shah Alam police have dismissed rumours that a ten-year-old boy was abducted in Batu Tiga here as spread widely on social media and WhatsApp since yesterday.
Shah Alam police chief ACP Shafien Mamat in a statement confirmed that the department had not received any information or report on the incident.
However he said, the police would take note of the information which had been disseminated widely.
Shafien also advised the public who had information on the case to report at the nearest police station or call the Shah Alam police headquarters hotline at 03-5520 2022.
"We hope people would check the validity of information with the police first before spreading the news," he said.
Yesterday, news of a boy abducted after he was seen being pulled into a white van, went viral on social media and through WhatsApp. — Bernama
