Selangor Sultan's sister Tengku Puteri Sofiah dies

SHAH ALAM: The younger sister of the Sultan of Selangor, Tengku Puteri Sofiah Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, died at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang, today.
A source from the Selangor palace confirmed that Tengku Puteri Sofiah, 68, died at 4pm and that her remains were brought to Masjid Istana Diraja, Istana Alam Shah, Klang, for funeral prayers.
"The burial is expected to be conducted at Makam Diraja Shah Alam in Seksyen 5 at 10am tomorrow. However, there is no state burial for Tengku Puteri Sofiah," he told Bernama.
Meanwhile, the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin attended a "buka puasa" at Masjid Al-Wathiqu Billah Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), tonight.
Recital of the "Yasin" and "doa selamat" was also held for Tengku Puteri Sofiah.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak hopes that her soul receive the blessing of Allah.
"Received the sad news of the death of Tengku Puteri Sofiah, the younger sister of the Sultan of Selangor. Al-Fatihah," he said in his Twitter. — Bernama
