BN youth wants issue between Nazri, Abdul Karim settled in BN spirit

SIMUNJAN: The tiff between Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz with Sarawak Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah should be resolved in the spirit of Barisan Nasional (BN).

BN Youth chairman Khairy Jamaluddin, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, said he believed both individuals could sit down to discuss the standing issue.

He said it was most important now and the solution should be based on the spirit of BN comradeship.
"I just discussed with Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof (Sarawak BN Youth chairman) and I hope the issue will be resolved in the spirit of BN.
"In BN we have our principle of musyawarah (discussion), we have the principle of comradeship, and consensus and the issue should not be extended in the media and I believe it will be settled as the matter is a policy which can be discussed between minister and minister.
"I am not the Tourism Minister, I can comment as BN Youth chairman and hope the issue will be settled amicably," he said.

He told reporters when leading the 2017 SEA Games Torch Run at Samarahan Division at Batang Sadong Bridge, Simunjan this evening.
Also present was Abdul Karim.
Meanwhile, Abdul Karim, when asked to comment, said he did not want to the matter to be compounded.
"No need to comment, YB Khairy has said just now to settle it amicably and I have no problem with that, there is no need to get angry during Ramadan," he said.
When asked about the decision of the Sarawak government to withdraw its participants from Tourism Malaysia, Abdul Karim said the decision had long been made and it was not due to the latest squabble.
He said the state government made the decision as Sarawak Tourism Board was playing the same role.
"The decision has nothing to do with what happened between him and the Tourism Ministry. The decision maybe at the same time but they are not related," he said. — Bernama
