JEMPOL: The remains of Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) pilot Mohd Hasri Zahari, 39, were buried at the Felda Lui Muda cemetery here about 10.30am.
The body was earlier prayed over at Masjid Felda Lui Timur by Imam Mohd Rawal Md Isa and about 200 villagers and TUDM personnel.
TUDM Air Support commander Lieutenant-General Datuk Wan Normazlan Che Jaafar, Pertang assemblyman Datuk Jalaluddin Alias and Sungai Lui assemblyman Wan Mohd Razi Mohd Ali were present.
Mohd Hasri left behind his wife Asysyuhadak Ahmad, 30, and their eight-month-old daughter Nur Hafiya.
Earlier, residents and about 300 personnel of TUDM bases in Subang and Labuan gathered at the home of Mohd Hasri's parents to pay their last respects to the deceased.
Mohd Hasri and his colleague Major Yazmi Mohamed Yusof were killed after the Hawk 108 they were in, was believed to have crashed in a swampy area at a forest in Chukai, Terengganu yesterday.
Their remains were found 20m apart, at 2.30pm. They were wearing their parachutes which showed they had managed to escape from the jet.
The Hawk 108 left Kuantan TUDM base at 11am yesterday before ceasing to communicate half an hour later. — Bernama
