Two Ah Long syndicates crippled

KUANTAN: Pahang police have crippled two illegal money-lending syndicates, which were operating in Rompin and Temerloh with the arrest of five men raids last Tuesday and Wednesday.
Pahang Commercial Crimes Investigation Department chief, Supt Mohd Wazir Mohd Yusof said in the operation in Rompin last Tuesday, police arrested three suspects aged between 25 and 35.
"We also seized three sling bags, 35 copies of borrowers identity cards, five handphones, two 555 notebooks, and RM2,140 believed to be collection from the borrowers," he said in a press conference, here today.
Meanwhile, in Temerloh last Wednesday, police arrested two men, both aged 22, believed to be new to the "business" in the district.
Police also seized 2,348 cards of unlicensed moneylenders, a sling bag, a motorcycle and a set of motorcycle keys.
All suspects had been remanded for four days to facilitate investigations. — Bernama
