Woman deploys emergency slide as plane is taking off

A CURIOUS passenger deployed the evacuation slide by pulling the emergency exit lever just as the plane was taking off from the Beijing Airport on Tuesday.
The flight crew aboard the Xiamen Airlines plane had just finished their safety demonstration to passengers, including telling them not to pull the emergency exit lever in non-emergency situations.
The woman passenger did just that. She tested the emergency feature of the plane just as it was about to take off.
The cost for the airline of deploying an emergency slide is said to be 100,000 yuan (RM62,640). That is a hefty price to pay for letting curiosity get the better of her.
