THE Canadian actress, who played surgeon Cristina Yang in Grey's Anatomy for nine years, will take the lead role in a new series. Killing Eve will screen in 2018 on BBC America, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Killing Eve is billed as a spy thriller in which Sandra Oh will play Eve, a security services operative who's smart but unfulfilled by her office job, a far cry from the exciting life of a spy she dreams of. However, Eve soon finds herself being hunted by an elegant and talented psychopathic killer.
Sandra Oh found fame in 2005 in ABC's medical drama Grey's Anatomy. For 10 seasons she played Cristina Yang, a brilliant surgeon and friend of lead character Meredith Grey. Since leaving the show in 2014, the actress has been seen in the most recent season of American Crime.
The eight-episode Killing Eve series is created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the British writer and actress who wrote and starred in comedy show Fleabag, about the life of a young woman trying to navigate life in London. The series, which screened last summer on BBC Three, reached audiences worldwide via Amazon. — AFP Relaxnews
