Traveloka introduces 0% instalment plans with Maybank for flight and hotel bookings

KUALA LUMPUR: Traveloka, one of Malaysia’s top travel booking platforms, has launched an exclusive partnership with Maybank that allows Maybank credit card holders to pay for flight and hotel bookings in instalments.
Through the Maybank instalment plans, Malaysians can now book their travels to dream destinations they had once considered too costly to pay for in one lump sum.
The plans are offered at 0% interest, allowing customers to make their bookings without having to worry about accumulated interest later down the road.
Bookings with a minimum transaction of RM500 are eligible for the 6-month plan, while the 12-month plan is valid for bookings that are at least RM1,000 in total.
The payment option is available across all Traveloka’s platforms, such as its app and desktop and mobile sites.
Traveloka’s Country Manager for Malaysia and Singapore, Halif Hamzah, said there was a demand among travellers for more flexible payment options.
“We often hear people say, ‘I wish I could …’, so with the instalment plans, we hope to make it possible for people to fulfil their travel aspirations, as they can travel first, and pay later,” he said.
Halif added that with the upcoming Raya season, there was a large surge of people planning to travel.
“This is a time when Malaysians want to spend time with family, whether it’s back in their kampung or on a trip together.”
“There’s a lot of spending involved during the festive season, but with the instalment plans, we would like to help lighten the financial burden and allow our customers to treat themselves to a holiday,” he said.
To spread the festive cheer, Traveloka also has weekly flight and hotel promotions throughout the month, offering attractive prices for those who will be travelling during the Raya season when they input the promo codes.
