Companies in Malaysia have generated output of RM2.5t between 2010 and 2015

    KUALA LUMPUR: Companies in Malaysia have generated output of RM2.5 trillion with a growth rate of 7% per year between 2010 and 2015.
    According to the Economic Census 2016, the manufacturing sector remained the major contributor to the output value and for the first time, hit RM1.1 trillion.
    In 2015, a total of 920,624 active business companies operated in Malaysia with the services sector dominating at 88.9%.
    The total value added generated by the 920,624 business companies was RM983 billion. The petroleum and natural gas extraction industry recorded the highest value added at RM92.3 billion.
