Failure to submit GST statement: Four companies in Sarawak charged

KUCHING: The Malaysian Royal Customs Department has taken legal action against six companies for offences under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act 2014, including four for failing to submit their GST statements, this year.
According to a statement issued by the department here today, the latest case involved a construction company and a telecommunication company which were fined RM12,000 and RM22,000, respectively, for failing to submit their GST statements.
Last year, 12 companies were charged in court for various offences under the GST Act and were fined a total of RM287,000. — Bernama
