PETALING JAYA: Former Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) chairman Tan Sri Isa Samad and his wife Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid have been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters to have their statements recorded tomorrow.
The couple are expected to be at the MACC headquarters at 10am.
MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Azam Baki confirmed the MACC calling the couple but declined further comment.
The latest development comes after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak announced that Isa had voluntarily left his post as FGV's chairman,
While Tan Sri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob has been appointed the new acting chairman FGV to replace Tan Sri Isa Samad with immediate effect.
Najib had also announced Isa as the acting chairman of the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) with immediate effect.
At present MACC is currently investigating FGV for possible misconduct and abuse of power following a struggle in the company's boardroom between Isa and suspended chief executive officer Datuk Zakaria Arshad.
Other than Zakaria, the others directed to go on leave are the FGV Chief Financial Officer Ahmad Tifli Mohd Talha, FGV Trading Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Salman Omar and Senior General Manager Delima Oil Products, Kamarzaman Abd Karim.
Azam Baki had said over 50 people have been questioned to date since the probe on FGV commenced about two weeks ago.
It is learnt that investigators hope to conclude the probe by the end of this month and file in their findings to the Attorney-General's Chambers for action.
