Najib, Rosmah attend completion of Quran reading and breaking of fast event

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor today attended an event to mark the completion of Quran reading and breaking of the fast at Seri Perdana, here.
Rosmah, together with her daughter, Nooryana Najwa and four other friends completed the Quran reading under the guidance of Ustaz Ahmad Subkhy Othman.
Also present were Raja Puan Besar Perak Raja Nor Mahani Raja Shahar Shah and Chief Justice Tan Sri Md Raus Sharif.
Earlier, those present listened to a religious talk delivered by Ustaz Syamsul Debat titled "Keistimewaan 10 Hari Terakhir Ramadhan" (the Special Qualities of the last 10 days of Ramadan).
Najib and Rosmah later broke fast with about 370 guests who included members of the Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers Welfare Organisation (Bakti) and the Association of Wives and Women Members of the Civil Service (Puspanita).
At the event, Rosmah also handed over contributions from the World Children's Prosperity Fund to Sri Lanka which was received by Sri Lanka High Commissioner to Malaysia A.J.M Muzammil amounting to RM50,000.
In addition, the Prime Minister and wife handed over Hari Raya contributions to orphans from the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Muslim Orphans Welfare Association (PERKAYATIM), 'tahfiz' children from Tahfiz Taman Duta and 'Anak-anak Permata'. — Bernama
