Nazri denies approving official call card for wife

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz has denied that his Ministry had issued government business cards to his wife Datin Seri Haflin Saiful, pictures of which are circulating on social media.
The Tourism and Culture Minister said he had never given permission to any of his family members to use his ministry's official calling card, and that he had no knowledge as to how a business card complete with the government coat of arms on it had emerged.
"I don't know how this happened. I seriously don't," he told theSun today, adding that anyone could have printed false cards or edited an image of the card to claim it as genuine.
Nazri stressed that any use of the government official emblem and detail of his office required his permission and strict approval.
"You can't print an official government business card anywhere, unless you have a letter by the ministry approving it. I must allow (before the card can be printed).
"But I have never given this permission. You can call my wife and ask her yourself," he said.
Attempts to get Haflin for comment were futile.
The image, which made its round on social media earlier today, bore the name Datin Seri Haflin S as the "Spouse-Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia", with her picture also on the card.
The name card also has Haflin's supposed email address and her two mobile phone numbers (one a Malaysian number, the other French).
