ASIA’S first animation park, Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) is set to captivate people of all age groups with over 40 attractions spread across six thematic zones – Animation Square, Dream, Blast Off, Live Action, Lakeside and Fantasy Forest.
With the tagline “Live Your Dreams!”, MAPS, built over a 21ha site in Ipoh, Perak, houses both international and homegrown Intellectual Properties, including DreamWorks characters.
There are several “first experiences”, either in the world, Malaysia or Asia available at MAPS.
The Home of BoBoiBoy is the world’s first and guests can enjoy their beloved characters in an exciting 4D motion adventure on the Floating Island.
Among them is the world’s first “La Cremeria Cafe” for ice cream lovers, with an outer space galactic atmosphere-themed interior.
Guests can enjoy Nestle’s La Cremeria ice cream, including the Capsule Sandwich, Galaxy Banana Split or Jupiter Double Barrel.
Another first in the world is the “Starship” where one can have a meal in one of the three levels of restaurants in a galactic-themed environment.
The restaurants serve a variety of cuisines and meal sets.
The Fantasy Forest Zone is dedicated to children aged between three and 12, which gives them an opportunity to explore the “Cave of Wonders”.
They can embark on a mystical journey of an ancient civilisation or marvel at the Upside Down Pyramid by discovering and solving the mystery of this gravity-defying masterpiece.
Those leaving the park will have fond memories as photo-ops are available for visitors around the park and printed copies of their pictures can be purchased at selected photo kiosks.
To make it memorable, they can share their memories on social media instantly as MAPS provides free WiFi, with up to 1,000Mbps.
“We are happy that finally, the public can enjoy a world-class theme park in Malaysia, especially in Ipoh,” said Animation Theme Park Sdn Bhd director Ramelle Ramli (pix).
“There are many attractions that are a first-of-a-kind in the world, Asia and Malaysia.
The timely opening of the theme park is a boost to the tourism industry in the state as it is Visit Perak Year 2017.
“We are expecting between one and 1.2 million visitors a year. One of our strategies is to see MAPS as the focal point,” said Ramelle.
“Ipoh is the centre point as flights are coming in from Singapore and there are also chartered flights from India and China.”
“From here, visitors can go on to other attractive locations like Royal Belum, Bukit Merah and Taiping. Come and try the rides. The prices are affordable,” he added.
