All systems go for MAPS

IPOH: It's all systems go as the Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS), the first animation theme park in Asia located in Bandar Meru Raya here, is set to open for business on the second day of Hari Raya.
As part of the opening, MAPS has launched a Hari Raya promotion for tickets which will go on until July 1.
Tickets bought during this period can be utilised from the opening day on June 26 to July 2.
A special discount is also given as visitors can purchase tickets priced at RM131 for adults and RM104 for children.
Another "gift" awaits visitors who spend RM600 on tickets in a single receipt.
They will be presented with a "Smurf" hat while those who spend RM1,000 will receive two hats.
These special ticket rates are available at the Aeon Kinta City and Aeon Klebang road shows here.
The MAPS management will also go on roadshows/trades shows in major shopping malls to sell the tickets.
This is apart from counter sales on the opening day and online purchases.
The park is expected to receive 7,000 visitors a day and an average of 49,000 people are expected to visit the park within the first week of opening between June 26 and July 2.

The theme park is a boost to the tourism industry in the state as it is Visit Perak Year 2017.
Built on a 20.8ha site, MAPS which cost RM520 million, houses both international and homegrown Intellectual Properties (IPs) including DreamWorks characters
The park has more than 40 attractions in six themed zones with the tagline "Live Your Dreams" namely Animation Square, Dream, Blast Off, Live Action, Lakeside and Fantasy Forest Zones.
Visitors are expected to throng the park since schools will be enjoying a one-week holiday in conjunction with Hari Raya.
Perak Tourism Association president Mohd Odzman Abd. Kadir said: "It is an additional attraction as it is the only one of its kind in the country.
"Bus operators should organise chartered trips to Ipoh and hotels will benefit with good collaboration with tour operators."
