Police seize various drugs from man, Vietnamese girlfriend

TANGKAK: The police have detained a couple believed to be drug pushers, in connection with the seizure of an assortment of drugs worth about RM157,800.
The drugs were seized during a raid at a house in Sungai Mati here yesterday.
Tangkak police chief Supt Mohad Idris Samsuri said the 30-year-old local man and his 26-year-old Vietnamese girlfriend were nabbed about 8am.
They were remanded for six days, beginning today, under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
He said among the drugs seized were heroin (4.4kg), Eramin 5 pills (270), syabu (103.2gm), ecstacy pills (385) and ketamine (6.65gm).
The couple tested positive for the drug, methamphetamine, he told reporters here.
Mohad Idris said investigation revealed the drugs were meant for the local market, especially entertainment centres.
"We believe the suspects had been active in the district for more than three months. The man has seven drug-related records on drugs," he added. — Bernama
