TNB has 8,800 staff on standby during Hari Raya

PETALING JAYA: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has 8,800 TNB employees will be on duty during Hari Raya. TNB distribution network senior general manager Wan Nazmy Wan Mahmood said the employees would be on standby for 24 hours starting yesterday.
"TNB is preparing to minimise any potential electricity interruption during the festive season, including inspections at all power stations and substations," he said in a statement.
He added that improvements would be made towards the substation systems to cope with the higher load expectations in some areas.
"More than 60 sets of mobile generators with capacity ranging from 125 kVA to 1,250 kVA are also on standby to be used as an alternative supply source, if the need arises," said Nazmy.
He advised the public to contact TNB Customer Service Center at 15454 or TNB Careline Facebook page for assistance if there is any power disruption during the celebration.
"To those who are scheduled to work on the first day of Hari Raya, TNB will provide them with a Raya feast provided by the TNB Women Society," he said.
