KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian keglers blazed the lanes in Macau to clinch a majestic double through at the Macau Open through Mohd Syafiq Ridhwan Abdul Malek and Radin Nur Najwa Arifah Radin Dzulfakar at the Bowling Centre, Avenida da Nave Desportiva, Cotai, today.
Mohd Syafiq Ridhwan who had initially topped the six-member leaderboard after the second round of the Masters with 1,941 pinfalls, defeated South Korea's Baek Jong-yun 251-215 in the "step-ladder" final to win the Men's title.
Also in the six-member group were Malaysians Alex Liew and Mohd Rafiq Ismail who managed 1,893 and 1,879 pinfalls respectively.
Meanwhile, Radin Nur Najwa ruled the lanes in the women's category despite a serious challenge from the experienced Putty Armein from Indonesia, to clinch her maiden title since joining the elite squad in 2013.
Just like Mohd Syafiq Ridhwan, Radin Nur Najwa had also topped the leader board with 1,943 pinfalls while Putty Armein was in second place with 1,855 pinfalls. — Bernama
