Thousands throng Raya open house of PM Najib at Seri Perdana

PUTRAJAYA: The Prime Minister's official residence, Seri Perdana was a sea of colours as thousands of people thronged the Hari Raya open house, here, today.
The Aidilfitri celebrations hosted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor saw guests gathering at the Seri Perdana compound as early as 9am to partake in the festivities at the open house, scheduled from 10am to 4pm.
Besides Najib and his wife Rosmah, others hosting the event included Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamid, Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz and Works Minister Datuk Fadillah Yusof along with other Cabinet members.
Najib, who appeared resplendent in a maroon-colored Baju Melayu arrived at 11.30am and took the opportunity to greet and take photographs with the guests.
In addition to members of the public, diplomats, corporate leaders, tourists as well as NGO representatives also attended the open house.
While children were given 'duit raya' cash packets, the guests were served a variety of food, mostly Raya delicacies such as satay, rendang, lemang, ketupat and nasi himpit.
Nestle Milo trucks offering drinks would be stationed at the three locations within the vicinity of Seri Perdana.
Free shuttle bus services would be provided to Seri Perdana from three locations, namely Putrajaya Sentral, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque and Putra Mosque for guests to commute.
