PETALING JAYA: The wife of missing pastor Raymond Koh Keng Joo has called on the police to provide a proper update regarding investigations into her husband's case.
"I refer to several media reports yesterday quoting Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar about developments in the abduction case of my husband Raymond, who was abducted 134 days ago in Petaling Jaya on Feb 13.
"Khalid seems to have made this announcement while hosting a Hari Raya Open House at Bukit Aman Police headquarters, yesterday.
"In his remarks, he referred to a police operation on June 17 June in Kedah," Susanna Liew Sow Yoke, said in a statement, today.
As with the previous announcements made by the IGP to the media about her husband's abduction on April 6 and May 24, Susanna said that she had yet to be briefed by the police on the latest development in the case.
"Like the rest of Malaysia, all I know is what I have read in the media.
"I hope that the police will contact me soon to arrange a meeting and to give me a proper update about my husband's case," she said.
The update, she stressed should also include a full explanation about the announcements the police made on April 6 and May 24.
She said this was due to the fact that the previous meetings was more about asking her to not engage with the media and to not attend public vigils and gatherings instead of the due updates.
"I also urge the police to cooperate with the investigation being conducted by Suhakam and to update them as well," she added.
Her response came after police announced their latest lead clue to date in the case following a shootout which killed a suspected arms and drugs smuggler in Perak last week.
Khalid revealed that after the shootout, police had raided the man's house and found compelling evidence that points to Pastor Koh's kidnapping including various pictures of what is believed to be Koh's house in Prima 16, here and pictures of two vehicles purportedly owned by the pastor, one of which bore the number plate ST 5515 D.
On the morning of Feb 13, the 62-year-old Koh was abducted by a group of masked men less than 100m from a police housing complex in SS4, Kelana Jaya.
Video footage from CCTVs in the area showed seven vehicles, including three black four-wheel drive vehicles, forcing his car to a stop in the middle of the road.
The drivers then used their vehicles to box in Koh's car and prevent him from driving off.
A few of the masked men are seen swarming Koh's car while their accomplices, including at least two on motorcycles, ensured no onlookers intervened.
Less than a minute later, Koh is apparently overpowered and his car bearing registration plate ST5515D was seen being driven away.
