U Mobile to terminate network sharing and alliance agreement with Maxis Broadband

PETALING JAYA: Maxis Bhd today announced that U Mobile Sdn Bhd has terminated a network sharing and alliance agreement (NSA) for 3G radio access network with Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd (MBSB).
The agreement dates back to October 21, 2011.
MBSB had last Friday (after office hours) received a letter from U Mobile terminating the NSA under a termination for convenience option available to U Mobile under the agreement.
The termination will take place in stages over a period of 18 months with completion on Dec 27, 2018, and is not expected to have a material effect on the consolidated financial results of Maxis for the financial year ending 2017.
