Myrapid opens new concession card migration centre at Sri Rampai LRT station

KUALA LUMPUR: MyRapid has opened another concession card migration centre, with the newest one at Sri Rampai LRT Station and bringing the total centres to four, said Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana).
Prasarana, in a statement, today said the new centre was expected to cater for residents at northern Kuala Lumpur, including students from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College and International Islamic University Malaysia.
"The migration or exchange of MyRapid cards to the new platform is necessary to enable cardholders to travel seamlessly between the Rapid KL bus, monorail, BRT and LRT networks and the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT Line, the phase two of which is scheduled to be officially opened on July 17," the statement added.
The other MyRapid concession card migration centres that have been set up since June 21 this year are the Awan Besar LRT Station on the Sri Petaling/Ampang LRT Line and the Subang Jaya LRT Station on the Kelana Jaya Line in addition to the Pasar Seni Bus Hub.
Prasarana said these three additional MyRapid concession card migration centres were set up to facilitate the migration or exchange of MyRapid concession cards for students, senior citizens, and people with disabilities to the new MyRapid concession card under the Touch'n'Go platform.
Meanwhile the group's communications and strategic market head Lim Jin Aun said Phase Two of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT would integrate seamlessly with the Kelana Jaya LRT at Pasar Seni, and the Sri Petaling/Ampang LRT Line at Maluri and Plaza Rakyat.
"As the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT Line ticketing system only accepts tokens and stored value cards under the Touch'n'Go platform, MyRapid cardholders who enter the MRT system via the LRT networks would have a challenge exiting at the MRT stations," he said.
Therefore, Lim added, it was important for MyRapid cardholders to migrate their stored value cards to the new MyRapid Touch'n'Go cards.
"The migration of the concession cards is also free of charge but will require additional time as we need to verify the status of the concession cardholders and snap their photograph before printing the new concession cards on the spot.
"As we give priority to senior citizens and people with disabilities, we have been able to complete the entire migration process for them in approximately 15 minutes, particularly in Subang Jaya and Awan Besar LRT Stations," he said.
To date, more than 75,000 generic MyRapid cards and close to 14,000 MyRapid concession cards have been migrated to the new MyRapid Touch'n'Go cards. — Bernama
