IPOH: Tithe recipients or the needy in Perak can obtain the service of a hearse in the event of a death which is provided by the Al-Bukhary Foundation free of charge.
Perak Branch Al-Bukhary Hearse manager, Roslan Ali said the service, which was provided since December, was aimed at helping the hardcore poor transport the remains of the dead in mosque areas, state or abroad.
“The hearse is also equipped with a facility to provide the final ablution to the remains, doing away with the need to borrow such facilities from surau,” he told Bernama here recently.
Roslan, who is also known as ‘Bilal rockers’, said all requests to use the free service must be completed for recording and reporting to the Al-Bukhary Foundation.
He said so far about 60 cases of tithe recipients or the needy had used the service.
Roslan said the well-to-do could also make use of the service but they would be charged according to distance, drivers’ allowance, toll and others.
“The proceeds from the payments will be used by us to purchase equipment related to handling the dead for the use of the poor,” he said.
He said the people of Perak requiring the service could contact him at 016-5420758. — Bernama
