KUBANG PASU: Innovative methods or products created and developed by students of Institutes of Teachers Education (IPG) which will have creative and innovative impact to the education system should be included in the 1BestariNet application as part of the national teaching and learning aid tools.
According to Kedah Science, Innovation and Information Technology, Communication and Advanced Technology and Human Resources Committee chairman, Datuk Norsabrina Mohd Noor, the move was crucial in ensuring that the innovative methods and products were not only developed for competition purposes.
"Students are becoming smarter and more exposed to various learning techniques via the mass media such as the YouTube. This has resulted in the conventional 'chalk and talk' technique becoming ineffective.
"Thus, by including the innovative inventions developed through a competition like this in the (1BestariNet) application, it will definitely become the best platform to produce more creative teachers," she told reporters after launching the 2017 National Innovation Competition and Blue Ocean Strategy Exhibition (iDBOS) at the Darulaman IPG campus here today.
Norsabrina also called on the state government to explore and use the inventions more actively in the effort to develop a creative learning system that could be commercialised extensively.
The information and communication technology-oriented competition, which is the second in its series, saw the participation from 77 IPG teams. — Bernama
