LANGKAWI: Langkawi is the first district in Kedah and the third in the country to implement the "Address For All" project which will determine residential addresses through the smart technology system.
Langkawi District Officer Isahak Murat said today, the project, a joint-venture between Pos Malaysia Bhd, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Langkawi District Office, was started in Pulau Tuba last year.
"This is part of the efforts under the Langkawi Smart Community programme which will implement several other initiatives soon," he said during the handing over of the "Address for All" plaque here today.
In his speech, Kedah/Perlis Pos Malaysia manager, Muhammad Faizal Abdul Jalil said the project involved 15,799 premises in Langkawi.
"This project would not only help Pos Malaysia send posts but will also help other agencies provide their assistance faster," he said. — Bernama
