Tag Heuer's Kingsman smart watch premieres on Mr Porter

FROM July 6 onwards, timepiece collectors will be able to get their hands on the Kingsman Modular 45, the storied watchmaker's newest wearable technology via Mr Porter.com – one month before its official launch. It will appear as the first part in the Kingsman The Golden Circle “costume to collection” capsule, a continued collab between the online retailer and Matthew Vaughn, the British director, producer and writer of The Golden Circle, coming to cinemas this autumn.
The Kingsman Special Edition reproduces the aesthetic adopted by the agents in the comedy spy movie (to be released in cinemas in the UK and the US on Sept 22): rose gold lugs and an elegant leather strap with Kingsman print.
The watch which is retailing at US$3,650, comes with a second strap in orange velvet, inspired by the iconic orange velvet smoking jacket worn in the film by Taron Egerton.
The key difference between the Kingsman Special Edition and the core collection is in its dial functions.
Available in either midnight blue or grey, it bears the Kingsman inscription and logo at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock.
At 10:10, the dial vibrates for 10 seconds and the K-shaped logo appears. In a final nod to the new film, the original Android Wear lighting function is replaced by the film's logo on the dial, in gold on a white background. An all-terrain watch with an elegant, English-style Kingsman touch.
The luxury smart watch which premieres on Mr Porter.com on July 6, follows on from the special edition 'tailoring to ties' Kingsman films original collab with the web-based retailer: https://www.mrporter.com/mens/designers/kingsman
Commenting on the Kingsman Modular 45's online launch, Tag Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver said: "The intersection between Kingsman and Tag Heuer speaks to what defines a gentleman today: a combination of prestige, avant-garde and access to a connected world."
As the name implies, the entirely Swiss-made connected Modular 45 sets itself apart: its innovative connected module is interchangeable with an Haute Horlogerie mechanical module—a 3-hands or COSC-certified Chronograph Tourbillon. The lugs, strap and buckle are also interchangeable. Its water-resistant (to 50m) design comes complete with GPS, an NFC payment sensor, a high-definition AMOLED display, plus a selection of infinitely customisable Tag Heuer dials, with Android Wear 2.0 and a new Companion App to enhance the software experience. — AFP Relaxnews
