Myanmar worker stabbed to death at kongsi

ARAU: A Myanmar worker was found stabbed to death during a quarrel with his countryman at their kongsi at the Sungai Durian vegetable farm in Kurung Anai here last night, according to police.
Arau Police chief Supt Nanda Maarof said Myint Naing, 37, was stabbed at about 9.30pm when he declined to move to another kongsi as ordered by his employer, and a fellow worker was angered by his refusal.
"The fellow worker stabbed Myint Naing with a knife and his aggressiveness sent the other eight workers in the kongsi to flee for their lives," he said to reporters here today.
Nanda said a police team rushed to the kongsi upon being notified of the incident at 10.25pm.
The policemen found the body of Myint Naing lying supine on the ground outside the kongsi, he said, adding that the police were looking for the suspect.
Myint Naing's body was sent to the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital, he said. — Bernama
