MAHSA UNIVERSITY recently unveiled their International Education Collaboration & Clinical Training Centre of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at their Bandar Saujana Putra campus.
Prof Hu Hongyi, the vice president of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM), presented a talk entitled "Development and Challenges of Inheritance and Current Innovation in Traditional Chinese Medicine", accompanied by several other eminent experts in traditional Chinese medicine.
In his speech, the university's chairman, pro-chancellor and founder, Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohamed Haniffa Abdullah, said he was overjoyed to be working with his distinguished Chinese counterparts, and expressed great hopes that the work they are doing together will not only create excellence but more importantly, help the patients whose lives they will change in the future.
MAHSA University also announced its collaboration with SHUTCM in terms of financial aid, namely the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Overseas Student Scholarship and the Aspiration Grant Scholarship.
The former is available for the Student Exchange Programme, which is offered to candidates who are enrolled in the five-year Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) programme in English. Through this programme, students will undertake to study the BA in Biomedical Sciences at MAHSA University for a year, followed by four years in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Faculty of the SHUTCM.
Additionally, the Aspiration Grant Scholarship will provide a total of RMB14,000 per academic year to full-time overseas undergraduate students of SHUTCM who can demonstrate excellence and eligibility.
This scholarship may be given for a maximum of five academic years.
In order to be eligible, students must be under 30 years of age, have excellent academic records and be in good health, among others.
