PETALING JAYA: Berjaya Hotels and Resorts (BHR) guests can now pay their room bookings over the counter at 7-Eleven stores nationwide, providing an alternative payment option.
In a statement today, the group said the new payment option is currently readily available for guests who book to stay in any of BHR properties in the country including Berjaya Times Square Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Berjaya Langkawi Resort, Berjaya Tioman Resort, The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort and Redang Island Resort.
It said the new option is aimed at making hotel reservation more convenient and hassle-free, as well as to expand its opportunities in the suburban market where online or credit card facility might not be readily available.
BHR chief executive officer Hanley Chew said while the hospitality industry moves towards a more digitally savvy behavioral, one must also be aware of the untapped market segment.
"Now, with a reservation confirmation barcode, they can walk into any nearest 7-Eleven stores and pay cash to confirm their room bookings in our hotels."
7-Eleven Malaysia Executive Director Tan U-Ming said the move further reinforced 7-Eleven's commitment in bringing the latest retail offerings as well as added convenience to its more than 900,000 daily customers.
