IGP issues major reshuffle of senior police officers

KUALA LUMPUR: A major reshuffle involving the transfers and promotions of 74 senior police officers, including state and department heads, was issued yesterday by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
Heading the list was police administration department director Commissioner Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah who will take over as the new director of the internal security and public order department following the retirement of Commissioner Datuk Seri Muhammad Sabtu Osman last month.
With the retirement of the narcotics crimes investigations department (NCID) director Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff next month, CID director Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh was listed as the new director of the NCID.
Johor police chief Commissioner Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd is to report as the new CID chief.
The new Johor police chief is police secretary DCP Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd who reports for duty at the state next month.
Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Mazlan Mansor who had in the past served as Petaling Jaya police chief and Selangor CID chief returns to Selangor to assume the post of state police chief when current police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat retires this month.
Deputy director of the internal security and public order department DCP Datuk Amer Awal takes over as the new Sarawak police commissioner.
Director of the integrity and standard compliance department (JIPS) Commissioner Datuk Abdul Ghafar Rajab will assume duties as the new head of the police administration department.
JIPS deputy director Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin moves out of the federal police headquarters to succeed Negri Sembilan police chief DCP Datuk Jaafar Mohd Yusof who retires this month.
Several district police chiefs in the Klang Valley were also among those who were promoted and listed in the transfer order.
