Mercedes Benz, business class flight await hole-in-one winners at RSGC golf c'ship

KUALA LUMPUR: A Mercedes Benz A200 worth RM205,888 and a return business class flight ticket to Los Angeles, United States from Etihad Airways await hole-in-one prize winners at the 43rd Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) Ladies Amateur Open Championship to be held from July 14-16.
Tournament Organising Chairperson Datuk Yasmin Yusuff said besides both prizes, the hole-in one winner in the tournament held at the east course of RSGC would also walk away with a pair of diamond earrings by Mouawad valued at RM38,500.
"We would like to thank all sponsors for their generosity to contribute this amazing prizes.A hole-in-one prize has only been won twice in the last 43 years, so I'm hoping for some excitement out there," she told a press conference, today.
Yasmin said, 65 participants from a number of Asian countries namely India, Japan, Vietnam, Brunei and Indonesia have registered so far, adding that the closing date which initially ended tomorrow, has been extended until Sunday due to enormous response from the foreign players.
She also revealed that defending champion, Loy Hee Ying and Nur Durriyah Damian who will represent the country at the upcoming Kuala Lumpur SEA Games in August have also confirmed their participation in the three-day meet.
"Players from the Philippines who have been our regulars have this year opted to play in the United States Tour but we are confident that this tournament would still be able to draw interest from more international players as there are many exciting prizes to be won, such as Ipad and Iphone sponsored by Seng Heng and also DSLR camera by Canon Malaysia," she added.
Yasmin said four trophies are up for grabs in the annual tournament, namely – Tuanku Bahiyah Trophy (gross score over 54 holes), Toh Puan Norashikin Trophy (net score over the first 36 holes), Piala Datin Azian (gross team score over the first 36 holes) and Piala Clarissa Lee for the net team score over the first 36 holes.
She added that the entry fee was RM600 per player but the organisers have decided to give a 50 percent fee discount for junior players from the Malaysian Ladies Golf Association (Malga) and Malaysian Golf Association (MGA). — Bernama
