Baidu CEO in trouble after live-streaming himself in driverless car

BEIJING: Baidu CEO Robin Li has landed himself in trouble with the law after live-steaming himself in a driverless car yesterday. The driverless car is being developed by his company.
Footage of Li video-calling from the car while on his way to the Baidu Create conference here went viral.
Beijing police said they were aware of the incident when contacted by a Beijing Youth Daily reporter. An unnamed officer said the city’s traffic regulations did not allow for driverless vehicles on the roads.
However, later in the afternoon, Baidu said the general manager of its Intelligent Vehicle Division, Gu Weihao, was in the driver’s seat.
Baidu was reported to have taken its self-driving car for out for a a controlled road test here in December 2015.
