New BMW 4 Series variants introduced

    BMW Group Malaysia today introduced new variants of the BMW 4 Series Coupe as well as the new M4 Coupe – new model lines with upgrades in appearance, performance, interior offering and added technology for connectivity.
    Han Sang Yun, managing director and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia said: “The BMW 4 Series introduced a new era in the history of BMW and the sports Coupe has already created another successful example of our strengths and capabilities in creating dynamic two door sports cars which move car enthusiasts emotionally all over the world.”
    Han added that the premium automaker is constantly seeking to challenge its own boundaries in order to deliver the best in automotive innovations and sheer driving pleasure to its customers. “With the new advancements introduced in the new models, we believe that the new 4 Series Coupe will continue to exceed expectations as a sophisticated and dynamic Coupe while the new M4 Coupe will prove that it is a multiple championship winner not only on the Touring Car Circuit but on the streets and in the hearts of premium motorsports fans here.”
    Performance-oriented coupe raising the bar
    Preserving its characteristics of power, sportiness and elegance which synonymous with the 4 Series since its 2014 debut, the new 4 Series Coupe emerges more dynamic and more prominent with presence with a newly designed front and rear section. Apart from modified air inlets in the front, the sporty coupe pierces the darkness at night with new bi-LED headlights in place of xenon units found on its predecessor.
    At the rear, the new BMW 4 Series accentuates its pronounced appearance with a new rear apron, twin exhaust tailpipes with larger diameter and newly designed all-LED tailights – no longer appearing as individual light bars but a seamless beam. Other introductions include new 19-inch light alloy rims and the newest exterior colour of Snapper Rocks Blue colour as an option for the 420i Coupe Sport.
    The new 4 Series also raises the bar in superior performance with an enhanced suspension system – made stiffer for better dynamism while adapting damper settings to retain ride comfort. The 420i Coupe Sport features a standard suspension set up while the 430i Coupe M Sport now offers the addition of Adaptive M Suspension for a more dynamic ride which can be accessed with a more sporty suspension set up via the Driving Experience Control.
    Coupled with increased steering precision consequent of advanced fine-tuning of the chassis, superb handling is resulted where body roll is reduced, driving characteristics are maintained even when approaching the car’s limits, and elevated directional stability – all realised without compromising the ride comfort known in its predecessor.
    In addition to an ergonomic cockpit inside the cars, a refined interior evokes sophistication with new ambient lighting, new chrome appliqué trims bedecking the audio and air conditioning systems as well as a new and sturdy sports steering wheel comprising of a special soft foam material wrapped with Nora leather a standard offering.
    Embodying the latest breakthroughs in the display units in new BMW vehicles, the new 430i M Coupe Sport also features the latest-generation (ID6) user interface with six tile icons arranged on two screen pages on the 8.8-inch display. The interface also enables touch screen functionality, making the new 4 Series the only car in its segment have such an offering.
    In terms of engines offering, the new BMW 4 Series offers four-cylinder engines that are part of the current BMW EfficientDynamics family and excels with immediate throttle response and high power output as well as superior fuel efficiency. The New BMW 420i Coupe Sport offers 184hp with 270Nm torque delivery at full acceleration, making the 0-100km/h sprint in 7.5 seconds. The 430i Coupe M Sport offers a 252hp powerplant capable of developing 350Nm of torque to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.8 seconds.
    Both the new models are also equipped with BMW Connected services including Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices and Remote Services via the BMW Connected App. The BMW Concierge Services capability is only available on the 430i Coupe M Sport.
    In terms of exterior colour offering, the new 420i Coupe Sport offers a new colour offering of Snapper Rocks Blue, Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver and Melbourne Red. The New BMW 430i Coupe M Sport, meanwhile, arrives in Estoril Blue, Alpine White, Black Sapphire and Melbourne Red. Both the new cars offer interior colour offerings of Leather Dakota Black with Highlight Oyster Black Sports Seats.
    New M4 Coupe: A continued show of strength
    An uncompromising high performer, the new M4 Coupe continues personifying the perfect fusion of racetrack power and capability with daily practicality. Offering sharpened aesthetics, an upgraded interior, extended functions, and the latest technology.
    Now edgier in its appearance courtesy of new BMW Adaptive Full-LED headlights and taillights as standard, the new M4 Coupe also conveys its distinctive M nature with M specific exterior mirrors, distinctive M gills and the BMW M Double Tailpipe. Optimum performance is embedded aesthetically in the form of a BMW Carbon Roof and a Powerdome – both of which contribute to a lightweight construction concept.
    Inside, redesigned and illuminated statement M emblems embellishes the front of the M Sport seats featuring width-adjustable side bolsters for perfect lateral support where the upright seats also apertures for effective ventilation on the racetrack. Aside from an M leather steering wheel with M Drive buttons, interior trim finishes in carbon fibre and premium chrome appliqué communicates a sense of confidence synonymous to the sports car.
    The new M4 Coupe continues to be unequivocally potent with a 3.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo in-line six-cylinder engine capable of up to 7,300rpm and a peak torque of 550 Nm from 1,850rpm to 5,500rpm. The high-revving character of the engine guarantees an instantaneous response even at the slightest touch of the accelerator.
    Other highlights contributing to the specific motorsports nature of the car include a high performance cooling system where the performance temperature of the car is balanced with the main cooling system working in combination with an electric water pump to ensure a very consistent temperature balance of the engine, much like racing cars. Additionally, the consistency of the oil supply to the engine is maintained by a weight-optimised magnesium oil pan which limits the movement of the oil under strong dynamic lateral acceleration to ensure oil is supplied continuously to all the engine components, ensuring high performance capabilities of the car.
    The new M4 Coupe’s exterior colour offerings include Sakhir Orange, Austin Yellow and Yas Marina Blue. Interior and seat colours include Leather ‘Merino’ with extended contents Black with Black M Sports Seats.

    The New 4 Series Coupe and new M4 Coupe are on display at the Raya@BMW from today to July 21 at all BMW dealerships nationwide. Apart from traditional performances such as the gamelan and gambus, Raya@BMW will also share with customers and visitors festive activities such as ketupat weaving and batik painting.
    Concurrently, the new M4 Coupe in Sakhir Orange will be exhibited at Revolution by Time Kulture at the Centre Court of Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur from today to July 16.
    The retail prices (on the road with GST, without insurance, and with BMW Group Malaysia’s five-year unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled service programme as well as two-year/24-month tyre warranty programme) for the three variants are: RM338,800 (420i Coupe Sport), RM408,800 (430i Coupe M Sport) and RM760,800 (M4 Coupe).
