Mazlan Mansor takes over as new Selangor police chief

SHAH ALAM: New Selangor police chief has vowed to keep Selangor safe and ensure continuous effort in combating crime in the state.
Commissioner Datuk Mazlan Mansor has taken over the post from retiring Commissioner Datuk Seri Abdul Samah Mat.
“I will continue his (Abdul Samah) efforts in ensuring the people of Selangor are safe,” said Mazlan at the handing over duties function at Selangor Police headquarters today.
Mazlan was the former Sarawak police commissioner. He has served as Petaling Jaya district police chief and Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief.
Mazlan, 57, has been with the police force for 38 years. He started his career in 1979 as an inspector at the Kuala Lumpur police training centre.
Meanwhile, Abdul Samah said that he has “no regrets” during his tenure as the state police chief.
