Expat family escapes burning condominium

GEORGE TOWN: An expat family of six cheated death when their condominium unit was engulf in fire at Persiaran Gurney early this morning.
According to Bagan Jermal Fire & Rescue station chief Mohd Rizuan Ramli said the Mexican family comprising four adults and two children were rescued from the 8th floor of the condominium unit when the department arrive at the scene at about 3.47am.
"They were all rescued, although almost everything in the unit was destroyed. None of the victims were hurt", he said when contacted by theSun.
The fire was brought under control at about 5.40am.
The cause of the fire and the damage had yet to be ascertained.
