Kuala Lumpur 2017 SEA games torch run arrives in Batang Padang

BAGAN DATUK: The 2017 SEA Games (KL2017) Torch Run in Perak continued today from Bagan Datuk to Tun Ahmad Sarji Stadium, Tapah in Batang Padang district, with a total distance of 70km.
Pengkalan Hulu assemblyman, Aznel Ibrahim handed over the torch to Batang Padang district officer Azizi Abd Aziz, witnessed by State Public Utilities, Infrastructure, Energy and Water exco Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin who represented Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
The run will be continued to Kuala Kangsar district tomorrow.
The Perak KL2017 Torch Run began at Bagan Serai in Kerian district last Friday before it ended at Kampung Dew in Larut, Matang and Selama district, with a total distance of about 35km.
The five-day run passed through seven districts in Perak including Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Batang Padang, Kuala Kangsar, Lenggong and it will end at Gerik on July 12, before it will be handed over to Kelantan representative.
Meanwhile, Zainol Fadzi in his speech extended his best wishes to the Malaysian contingent in the 29th SEA Games next month especially the Perakians who will represent the country to the biennial Games.
"All of you are playing and taking responsibility to ensure the victory of Malaysia. Malaysians especially the Perakians will always support all of you," he said. — Bernama
