Four killed in lorry-van crash in Sabah

    LAHAD DATU: Four people, two of them women, were killed in an accident between a van and a tanker lorry at KM3 of Jalan Lahad Datu-Tungku here early today, according to the Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station.
    Its chief, Mohd Apandi Mahmood, said the four, who were the driver and passengers of the van, were trapped in their vehicle that was found under the lorry following the accident at 5.45am.
    "The four people were trapped (in the van) under the lorry. We removed the bodies between 9.05am and 9.22am," he said.
    The van was on its way to Lahad Datu town from Kampung Desa Bajau, he added.
    Mohd Apandi said the fire and rescue station rushed 18 fire-fighters in four trucks to the scene after being summoned at 5.59am. — Bernama
