(Video) Five killed in two accidents involving oil tankers (Updated)

BINTULU: Five people were killed in two collisions involving an oil tanker in each incident in East Malaysia today.
In the first accident in Bintulu, the oil tanker driver was killed after he lost control of his vehicle, that hit a road divider and exploded.
In the second accident in Lahad Datu, a van driver and his three passengers were crushed to death when the vehicle they were travelling in collided with an oil tanker.
Bintulu district police chief Supt Zailanni Amit said the oil tanker driver who died was identified as Martin A. K. Joshua, 31.
In the 12.10pm incident, the tanker was heading to Tanjung Batu from Tanjung Kidurong.
Zailanni said the fire from the burning tanker also spread to five other vehicles and a motorcycle waiting at a traffic light junction.
"The driver of the oil tanker died on the spot, while two others suffered burns.
"Police have identified the transport company that owns the oil tanker and obtained witnesses' accounts of the accident," he told theSun.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received a distress call at 11.53am and 10 personnel in two engines were dispatched to the scene near the Bintulu Medical Centre.
Patients at the hospital were also evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Firefighters took over an hour to extinguish the fire.
Pictures of the incident have since gone viral on social media.
The Lahad Datu oil tanker-van collision occurred at Km3 of Jalan Lahad Datu-Tungku, reported Bernama.
Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue station chief Mohd Apandi Mahmood said the four who died — two men and two women — were trapped in their vehicle that was found in a ditch with the tanker on top of it in the 5.45am accident.
The van was on its way to Lahad Datu town from Kampung Desa Bajau.
Mohd Apandi said 18 firefighters in four trucks were rushed to the scene after being summoned at 5.59am.
Cranes had to be used to lift the tanker before rescuers could remove the bodies.
