Jalan Ipoh - Lumut accident claims 2 lives

IPOH: Two workers of an iron factory in Sitiawan perished after the four-wheel-drive vehicle they were travelling in collided with a trailer truck at KM20, Jalan Ipoh-Lumut near Batu Gajah, early today.
In the incident around 4am, Chin Jia Kent, 23, who was driving the 4WD and his passenger, Ooi Seow Keat, 30, died at the scene.
Batu Gajah District police chief ACP Mohd Nasri Omar in a statement here today said initial investigations found that the victims' vehicle suddenly went against the traffic flow and crashed into the truck which was travelling from Lumut to Ipoh on the left lane.
He said the victims' bodies were sent to Batu Gajah Hospital for post-mortem, and the case investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
