PETALING JAYA: Actress Raja Ilya is going for a surgical procedure called EMS (Electric Muscle Stimulation) to boost her muscles, and not plastic surgery.
There were some negative comments about her "going under the knife" to prepare for her role in an upcoming Hollywood production.
The 32-year-old actress said she still holds on to the teachings of Islam and will always maintain her pride and dignity.
The Soulmate Hingga Jannah actress said she was saddened by comments from netizens, claiming that she was willing to set aside her religion for surgery to enhance her looks for the role offered by Marvel.
"I'm doing a special treatment for my body in order to gain some muscles; it's not a plastic surgery. This is because I don't have time to go to the gym," she was quoted by BH Online as saying.
"With this method, I'll be able to gain body muscles faster. Now there are a lot of body treatments available in clinics."
The actress will be flying to America by the end of this year to shoot the said film.
