A WOMAN, who picked up the handphone of a 17-year-old boy who leapt to his death, has refused to return it to the teenager's family.
The teenager had jumped from a bridge in Yichang, Hubei, leaving his handphone behind last Friday. The woman picked it six minutes later and walked away with it.
The boy's sister tried to call the finder after watching the chain of events on a surveillance video. On Sunday, someone finally answered her calls to the phone. However, the woman ended the call after learning what happened to the boy and why the family wanted it back.
The family was hoping to get the phone back as it could reveal why the teenager decided to end his life.
