KUALA LUMPUR: The affordable housing market appears to be soft as buyers are having difficulty to access to end-financing, despite there is demand for affordable homes.
Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd (SPNB) Group CEO Datuk Ahmad Azizi Hj Ali said the government on its part is coming up with solutions to the issue of end-financing.
"And we on our part have to ramp up the selling activity and identify eligible buyers," he said.
The Minister of Finance Incorporated (MOF Inc.) group had been mandated by the government after the last general elections to build 100,000 units of affordable housing, of which 36,000 units have been constructed while ground works are going on for some 14,000 units.
SPNB today inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with building materials manufacturer and supplier Ajiya Bhd, to adopt the latter's Ajiya Green Integrated Building Solutions for SPNB Group's housing projects.
