The event was launched by State Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture, Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad on behalf of Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
In his speech, he urged Malaysians to be united to defend the "Jalur Gemilang" (national flag) and national sovereignty by casting aside differences including on religion, race, and political ideology.
"We, as Malaysians, must be thankful for the freedom, peace and unity we are enjoying. Don't squander all these due to religious, racial and ideological differences.
"I also hope, 'Jalur Gemilang' is not merely regarded as a piece of cloth. Express our pride for our nation by flying it always, not just in the month of August," he added. — Bernama
