BEIJING: Chinese star Fan Bingbing has said she is filing a lawsuit against the fugitive billionaire and political activist Guo Wengui in the United States for making what she claims are untruthful statements about her sex life in the international media.
The X-Men actress announced on Thursday that she won't stand for "malicious slander" any longer.
Guo had released a video on YouTube last month in which he accused Fan and several other female celebrities of having sex with 68-year-old Politburo Standing Committee member Wang Qishan, China's anti-corruption chief.
Fan's management team has said the allegations were "fabricated out of thin air" and had "severely damaged her reputation".
Wang has not yet responded to the sex claim.
The actress is represented in the US by LA-based entertainment law firm Lavely & Singer. When reached for comment, the law firm confirmed that it is representing Fan and is preparing a suit against Guo, but declined to comment further.
