PETALING JAYA: DAP has finally received an official letter from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) seeking the party to hold fresh elections for its central executive committee (CEC).
Party legal bureau chairman Gobind Singh Deo (pix) said the CEC would meet tomorrow (Wednesday) to discuss the matter and issue a statement later.
The letter was received by DAP today, 10 days after RoS issued a press statement ordering the party to hold the re-election.
"DAP received official notification of decision from RoS by way of letter this morning. CEC will meet this Wednesday to discuss its contents," Gobind posted on Facebook today.

RoS had, on July 7 ruled that DAP's CEC re-election in 2013 was not held in accordance with its requirements and found the appointment of the CEC and the main office-bearers to be invalid.
On Sunday, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Masir Kujat had said that DAP should be issued with an official letter from RoS before it could hold fresh elections, and that the instruction could not be done through a verbal directive.
