Pakistani labourer jailed for stealing from male dancer

KUALA LUMPUR: A Pakistani labourer was put behind bars for seven days and fined RM2,000 or another three months in jail by the Magistrate's Court here today, for theft.
Rehman Saif Ur, 21, admitted stealing a bag, jacket, a pair of shoes and bracelet belonging to a male dancer aged 22, from a hotel room in Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah here at 9am on July 4 this year.
Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som ordered him to serve the sentence from his arrest on July 4.
Deputy public prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin appeared for the prosecution while Rahman was unrepresented.
In the same court, a jobless man was sentenced to three months in prison for stealing 12 cartons of Dunhill cigarette and two paper cups worth a total of RM218.30 from a convenience store.
Mohd Hafiz Ahmad, 27, admitted committing the offence at 7-Eleven, Maxim Citylight Sentul here, at 9.06pm on July 5. — Bernama
