PEKAN: The public is encouraged to contribute ideas and views in the drawing up of the five-year Tasik Chini development plan.
Chini assemblyman Datuk Abu Bakar Harun said they could do so during the one-month Special Areas Publicity Programme starting this Aug 16.
Among the locations for the programme are Tasik Chini Resort, selected Felda offices, Kampung Salong Pekan penghulu office, and the Pekan, Rompin and Marang District Council offices.
"The public is welcome to view and study the Tasik Chini development draft plan and give their views, as Tasik Chini's development requires the cooperation of all parties.
"We will peruse the views and suggestions given so that the team involved in the development programme can come up with a high-quality and well-thought-out plan," he told a press conference, here, today.
Abu Bakar , who is also state Felda Affairs Committee chairman, said based on the initial planning, the Tasik Chini development plan would be implemented by PLANMalaysia@Pahang with the cooperation of the Pekan District Council.
"The Pahang government through the State Economic Planning Unit has also agreed to provide an allocation of RM250,000 for the Tasik Chini development plan study," he said.
On the plan to establish Tasik Chini Corporation, Abu Bakar said there was still no time frame set as this required thorough planning, including on financial allocations to support Tasik Chini's development.
"Perhaps this idea can be realised in future which can help boost tourism at Tasik Chini, hence helping the local residents increase their income," he said. — Bernama
