Respect other commuters

THE launching of Phase 2 of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) from Kuala Lumpur to Kajang by the prime minister yesterday refers.
The people appreciate the government's effort to improve their standard of living by putting in place an efficient and up-to-date public transport system.
On the MRT coaches, it is important for commuters to observe etiquette and all the rules in force.
They are not allowed to bring pets, smoke, litter, eat or drink in the coaches. (They can be fined if they are caught doing so).
Any act of vandalism is treated as a serious offence.
Commuters should not behave in any manner which could put themselves and others in harms way.
They are urged to read the rules on the station notice boards and in the trains.
The MRT management should consider having an officer on duty in the trains to ensure all rules are complied with.
Using public transport especially during peak hours in the morning and evening means sharing a small space with many people.
So it is important that commuters at all times treat each other with courtesy and respect.
